Parking and Transportation for Mt. Crested Butte

Parking Options when Staying on Mt. Crested Butte

If you are staying on Mt. Crested Butte and your rental only allows for one (1) parking pass, below are options for parking if you have more than one (1) vehicle.  Unfortunately, parking on Mt. Crested Butte is limited and there is no additional overnight parking available:

1.  Park your additional vehicles in downtown Crested Butte, on any side street other than Elk Avenue.  Parking downtown is free; however, you will have to move your car to the opposite side of the street each night for plowing purposes.  There are signs posted throughout town to explain where and when to park, as well as in your welcome binder at your property.

2.  Park your additional vehicle in Gunnison on a side street.  This is free and you will not have to move your vehicle each night for plowing.  You can utilize the free RTA Shuttle from any bus stop in Gunnison to take you to the Mountaineer Square bus stop located at the base of Mt. Crested Butte.

Parking on Mt. Crested Butte for Winter Activities:

Daily paid parking is available in the Main Lot located at 32 Emmons Road.  From Gothic Road, turn right onto Treasury Road and the entrance is on the right-hand side.

This lot is the closest to the base area, including the Red Lady Express and Silver Queen Express chairlifts.

Guests can park before making their payment.  Once you have parked, guests may pay at a kiosk in the parking lot, or by accessing a mobile payment site via QR codes posted throughout the parking site.  Parking is $15 per vehicle per day, and $20 per vehicle per day during holiday periods.  Paid Parking is CREDIT CARD ONLY- NO CASH.

Skier Drop Off:

If you wish to drop off skiers, you can do this in 2 designated areas:

  1. Turn Right off of Gothic Road into the parking area for The Grand Lodge. There is a “Skier Drop Off” sign located at the entrance of the parking lot.  Follow the road straight back, then turn right alongside the Grand Lodge building.  At the end of this lot is the Skier Drop Off area.  To exit, turn right into the roundabout where the bus stops are located, then exit back onto Gothic Road.
  2. Turn Right onto Emmons Road, and follow the road passed the Paid Parking lot towards the mountain. At the end of the road is a cul-de-sac where you can drop off skiers.

Mountain Express Town Shuttle and Gunnison Valley RTA Bus Service:

The Mountain Express Town Shuttle and Gunnison Valley RTA bus services are a great way to move around the area, and avoid the hassle of parking both on the mountain and in the town.  The Main Bus Stop is located at the base of the mountain by Mountaineer Square, and services both the Town Shuttle and the RTA bus which offers transportation to designated stops all throughout the valley between Mt. Crested Butte and Gunnison.  Both services are free to the public.

Cancellation and Damage Policy:

Payment and Deposit Policy: If you enter this Agreement more than 30 days prior to your stay, 50% of the rent is due at the time of a confirmed booking and final, full payment is due 30 days prior to arrival. If you enter this Agreement less than 30 days until the time of your stay, full payment is due to complete your booking. Interest, if any, earned from this deposit shall accrue in favor of Lessor.

Cancellation Policy: Bookings canceled at least 30 days before the arrival date will receive a full refund. Bookings canceled outside of 14 days before the arrival date will receive a 50% refund. Any booking within 14 days of the arrival date is NON REFUNDABLE. If you have made other payment arrangements and we have your credit card on file as a deposit, Peak shall charge the card on file for the full amount due in the case that you do not pay your balance or do not show up on your arrival date.

Travel Delay/Cancellation: Peak cannot refund a reservation should a cancellation or delay be weather related. We recommend that guests purchase travel insurance if this is a concern. We offer this optional coverage through CSA Travel Insurance.
Click this link for details: CSA TRAVEL INSURANCE

The travel insurance is recommended to be purchased at the initial deposit; however, the guest has the opportunity until making final payment to purchase travel insurance and be fully covered under the policy.  If the guest does purchase travel insurance more than 24 hours after making final payment, then they will not be covered for any pre-existing health conditions. For last minute bookings, they must purchase travel insurance at least 24 hours prior to arrival.

Damage Protection: We require one of two options for damage protection. We recommend the first option of purchasing damage protection through CSA for $45. This covers you for up to $3,000 in damages that could occur to the property during your stay. The second option is to pay a $1000 refundable damage deposit.
